Your Help is Needed to Get Disc Golf Recognized.

Let's show eTeamz that disc golf is a respectable sport!

Help get PAR-TWO ranked in the top ten. To achieve this every member of this newsletter would need to visit the site daily, you could set your start page to http://www.eteamz.com/par-two/. Just visiting the site gives us 11 points. Visit the "Tips and Drills" section and that's 50 more points (only once a day). For every different page you visit we earn another point, up to 30 pages per day.

eTeamz also award three prizes each month. If we happen to be one of the winners I plan on putting the winnings back into the growth of disc golf, I could hand out discs at the course, sponsor an event, buy a basket or two for a park to get a taste of disc golf or giveaway discs to the users that got us there.

 User Feedback Needed

If you would like to contribute to any section of this newsletter let me know by responding to this email with a story, an event, a disc golf joke, a one-liner or even a new section.  All responses will be considered for publication.

 Bring DiscTV to Local Programming
PDGA Alert  --  June 10, 2002

Would You Give Ten Minutes To Disc Golf?

Ten minutes. Not a lot of time there . . . 600 seconds, in fact. About as long as your opponent in the last tournament took for each putt :)   Yet in ten minutes you can impact the growth of disc golf in a big way.

How?

DiscTV is on the air: the first weekly TV program about disc golf has arrived to a national audience via the Empire Sports network (Sundays, 7pm ET). However, most viewers can only see Empire Sports on a satellite system (Dish Network and Direct TV).

Wouldn't you rather see it on your local cable system?

By spending ten minutes right now, you can help the growth of disc golf and encourage access to DiscTV on your local cable system.

What to do:

Call your local network broadcast affiliates (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) during business hours. You can find those numbers in the phone book under the station's call letters (ex: WPAR-TV). Tell the receptionist that there is a new show about frisbee golf called Disc TV, and you would like to know if they carry it. Be polite (tough, we know) and brief, but make your calls today, before you get busy with the other disc golf things you were thinking about.

After you call, it would also be helpful if you quickly visit http://www.disctv.disclife.com/calltv.shtml and tell us who you called so Disc TV can follow up on your efforts.

Also, please forward this message: electronically, by posting on course message boards, and verbally. Spread the word to your clubs, networks and disc golfing buddies to do the same, and to keep spreading the word. Ask everyone to make those calls to their local TV stations. Your small contribution to building the Disc TV market can go a long way in building the game.

Keep it in the fairway . . . !

 This Week's Member Feedback Question

 Responses to Last Week's Question
"I just started playing this year, should I participate in a tournament?" Anonymous
If you have the time, inclination and entry fee, participating in tournaments exposes you to a lot of players who may throw better or "worse" than you. Better yet, you will be exposing yourself to how others may approach the game...some for fun, some for competition. You get the opportunity to see different throwing techniques. Best of all, you may win some stuff while playing a sport that is always more fun doing than ALMOST anything else!!!

Since you asked the question you must have the desire to participate.  Don't worry about the competition, just enjoy the experience.  Make sure you register for the right division.  As a rule of thumb if your average is 5 per hole to register as a Novice, 4 per hole a Intermediate, 3 per hole as Advanced.  Good Luck!
